He was a 1947 graduate of Welcome High School and was a United States Air Force World War II veteran serving in the Korean War. He was a Supervisor at the United States Post Office in Columbia, SC with 27 years of service. Mr. McDaniel was an avid golfer, reader and always enjoyed the daily paper crossword puzzles. He was of the Christian Faith.He is survived by a son, David M. McDaniel and a granddaughter, Kaitlin McDaniel of Columbia; a sister, Betty Cantrell Ledbetter of Anderson and a long-time companion, Betty Dendy of Greenville, SC. The Funeral Service will be held on Monday, March 21, 2011 at11:00 am in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home officiated by the Reverend Paul Frey and Chris Lynch.
