Harold Prestley Greer, 82, of Anderson, SC, went to be with the Lord on Friday, October 20, 2017 at Rainey Hospice House. Born June 23, 1935 in Maryville, Missouri, he was the son of the late Charley Greer and the late Dorothy Chancey Greer. He retired with 40 years of service as an internal auditor for International Harvester/Navistar International and moved to Anderson in 1997. He was a member of New Covenant Presbyterian Church of America and served as Treasurer for Calvary Home for Children. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Dorothy Cleland Greer, whom he married November 19, 1955 in Beaver, Iowa; daughter, Corinne (Mark) Hayes of Alexandria, VA; son, Jeffrey Greer of Anderson, SC; and daughter, Allison (Charlie) Howell of Anderson, SC; sister, Barbara (Larry) Macke of Woodstock, GA; five grandsons, three granddaughters, one great-grandson, 4 great-granddaughters, and many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 3-5 pm Sunday, October 22, 2017 at The McDougald Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held in the chapel at 11:00 am Monday with Rev. Mark Burchette officiating. Burial will be at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens. The family will be at the home of Charlie and Allison Howell.
