Harold David Higgins, age 75, husband of Barbara Ann Turpen Higgins of Anderson, passed away Wednesday, May 14, 2014 at the Rainey Hospice House. Born in Piedmont, SC on March 15, 1939, Mr. Higgins was the son of the late L. J. "Mutt" Higgins and Idell Walker Higgins Childs. He was a 1957 graduate of Anderson Boys High School and retired from the United States National Guard with 36 years of service. Following his retirement he worked for Haynes Auto and Fairway Ford of Anderson. Mr. Higgins was also a charter member of High Praises where he served as an Elder. In addition to his wife of the home, he is survived by a daughter, Tiffany Brooke Higgins Abercrombie and her husband, Jonathan and two grandchildren, Riley and Jackson Abercrombie all of Anderson. The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, May 17, 2014 at 2:00 pm at High Praises Church, officiated by Pastor Chris Sustar, Reverend Scott Taylor and Dr. Stoney Abercrombie. Entombment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the church on Saturday from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm prior to the funeral. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial be made to High Praises Church, 4506 Midway Road, Williamston, SC 29697.
