Harold Seaford Hudspeth, age 88, a longtime resident of Anderson, SC, passed away on March 30, 2023.
Born in Concord, NC to Paul and Ruby (Honeycutt) Hudspeth, he grew up in Kannapolis, NC. He attended AL Brown High School, playing football and graduating in 1952. He joined the Air Force after high school and served 4 years, mostly at Travis AFB, CA. He attended Davis and Elkins College, Elkins, WV where he met his wife, Kathryn Ann Wolfe, of Lebanon, OH.
In 1958, they married and moved to Durham, NC for Harold to get his master's degree in Forestry at Duke. Harold worked for Brunswick Pulp and Paper Company throughout Georgia and in McCormick, SC. He moved his family to Anderson in 1972. He enjoyed spending his free time fishing, hunting, gardening, boating on Lake Hartwell and as a Boy Scout leader for Troop 502 at First Methodist Church. He also served as Elder at Cornerstone AG and on the Board of Directors of Haven of Rest and Home with a Heart. In his senior years, he travelled all over the globe.
Harold was preceded in death by his parents, his 3 wives Kathryn (1997), Louise Stratis (2007) and Lucy Schwenk (2020) and his stepson Joseph Morreale. He leaves behind his brother, Gerald (LaTrelle) Hudspeth of Matthews, NC; his children, Paul R. Hudspeth of Afton, VA, Julie (Kevin) Lehto of Green Bay, WI, Travis (Robin) Hudspeth of Rome, GA and Grant (Sabrina) Hudspeth of Spartanburg, SC. Also stepchildren, Christina (Charlie) Lance of Swannanoa, NC, Terry Yeomans of Eagle River, AK, Claudia (Russell) Hinton and Julie (Bob) Banker of Seneca, SC as well as many grandchildren, step-grandchildren and their children.
There will be a private gravesite ceremony for close friends and family at a later date.
