He retired after twenty years with the United States Navy and also was employed as a Chef, a textiles employee, and an employee of Owens-Corning Fiberglas. Survivors include his wife, Helen Whitten McElrath, of the home; sister, Bonnie Beebe, of Anderson; and brothers, Doug McElrath and John R. McElrath, both of Anderson.In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a sister, Jean McElrath and a brother, Grenn Berry McElrath, Jr.A Graveside Service will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, June 14, 2010, at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
