Harold Divver Rhodes, 87, passed on December 2, 2017, at Richard M. Campbell Veterans Nursing Home. Born in Anderson County, SC, on February 11, 1930, He was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. J.D. Rhodes. He was the devoted husband of Jeanette Drake Rhodes. Hap proudly served his country in the United States Army. He was the owner of Rhodes Masonry Construction. He was on the Board of West Anderson Water Company, a Mason and a lifelong member of New Prospect Baptist Church. In addition to his loving wife Jeanette, Hap is survived by his sons, Hal Rhodes (Tona), Phil Rhodes (Marie); daughter, Shannon Rhodes Proffitt (Michael); brother, Horace Rhodes (Betty Lee); 4 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; stepsons, Danny Drake (Kay) and Steve Drake (Linda); 5 step grandchildren and 8 step great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Hap was preceded in death by his first wife, Peggy Rhodes; grandson, Caleb Rhodes and two brothers, Wade and James. The family will receive friends at The McDougald Funeral Home on Monday, December 4, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held at New Prospect Baptist Church Tuesday, December 5, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Tom Turner and Dr. Tony Smith officiating. The Desiremen Sunday School Class will serve as Honorary Escorts. Interment will follow at New Prospect Baptist Church Cemetery.
