Harold Haynie Simpson, age 85, husband for 67 years to Dot Davis Simpson, of Honea Path, SC, passed away on Wednesday, February 11, 2026, at Rainey Hospice House.
Born December 3, 1940, in Donalds, SC, he was the son of the late Bill and Ellie Simpson.
He was retired from Peerless Plant. He was a member of Friendship Baptist Church and served in the Army Reserves. He was a prior member of Friendship Volunteer Fire Department. A pure country boy, he loved farming, attending tractor shows, and camping. He loved the Lord and his family.
In addition to his wife, Dot, he is survived by his son, Keith Simpson of Honea Path; daughter, Diane Rosser (William) of Honea Path; granddaughter, Allison Hardy (Brandon) of Hill AFB, Utah; two grandsons, Keanan Simpson (Kelly) of Summerville and Brian Rosser (Amber) of Honea Path; great grandchildren, Kaelynn, Cason, Ellie Kate, and Landon Hardy, Claire Simpson, Drake and Mason; brother, Tommy Simpson; and sisters, Martha Duncan and Joyce Stone (Jaime); several nieces and nephews. Also surviving are his helper, Linda Brooks; and great friends John Harold and Connie DeVall.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Jimmy Simpson; grandchild, Dakota Simpson; brothers-in-law, David Cheshire and Floyd Duncan; sister-in-law, Patsy McGee (Wayne); and in-laws, Tootsie and Ruby Davis.
The family will receive friends on Friday, February 13, 2026, from 10:00-10:45 am at Friendship Baptist Church. The funeral service will begin at 11:00 am with Rev. Paul Cooper and Rev. Ron Culberson officiating.
The family would like to thank the ladies of Hospice of the Upstate/Rainey Hospice House for their heartfelt care to our family.
