Harold Alvin Stout, age 80, of Anderson, SC, passed away Monday, June 12, 2023, at AnMed Health Medical Center. Born July 16, 1942, in Neptune, NJ, he was a son of the late Harold J. Stout and Vivian Cupid Bolte Stout. He was married for 51 years to Lynn Adone Stout until her passing in 2019. He was also preceded in death by his brother Jay Stout; brother-in-law, Louis Adone; and sister-in-law, Josephine Adone. Harold earned his master's degree plus 30 from Trenton State College, now known as The College of New Jersey, and was a high school Industrial Arts educator for 33 years. Some of his most cherished times were spent with his wife Lynn, traveling, fishing, and crabbing off the coast of New Jersey. He enjoyed NASCAR and woodworking with a particular talent for crafting furniture and cabinetry. Harold loved desserts with a special affinity for 1234 cake and apple pie made by his family. He was an active member of New Hope United Methodist Church. He is survived by his daughter, Cheryl A. Stout; son, Harold A. Stout, Jr. (Kaitlynn); grandchildren, Arabella Grace Stout, James Horace Stout, II, Thomas Bedle Stout, II, Matthew Tenbrook Stout, and John Adone Stout; sister-in-law, Maureen Stout and nephews, Randy Stout, and Douglas Stout; and nephew, Glenn Adone (Dianne); and niece and nephew, Teresa Adone and Gary Adone. The family will receive friends Saturday, June 17, 2023, from 1:00-2:00 pm at The McDougald Funeral Home. The funeral service will begin at 2:30 pm in the Chapel with Pastor Mari Gonlag officiating. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of traditional flowers the family would request outdoor plants or memorial contributions made to New Hope Methodist Church, 233 New Hope Rd., Anderson, SC 29626.
