Harris Eugene Vaughn, age 80, of Anderson, SC, passed away on Monday, August 26, 2024, at Rainey Hospice House.

Born May 17, 1944, in Belton, SC, he was the son of the late Author Clyde Vaughn and Daisy Watt Vaughn. He was also preceded in death by a son, Randy Vaughn; 6 brothers and 2 sisters.

Harris was employed for many years with McPhail Farms. He enjoyed riding around town and going out to eat. He loved his family with his heart and soul, and nothing brought him greater joy than his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 34 years, Shirley Jean Wright Vaughn; son, Allan Vaughn; daughter, Rhonda Vaughn Rutledge (Jessie); brother, Ricky Vaughn; sisters, Hilda Prince and Henrietta Hendrix; 6 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren; 2 stepchildren, 2 step grandchildren, and 2 step great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Thursday, August 29, 2024, from 11:30 am until 12:45 pm at The McDougald Funeral Home. The funeral service will begin at 1:00 pm in the Chapel with Rev. Dwight Greene officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
