WILLIAMSANDERSON, SCHarrison 'Harry' Leonard Williams, age 73, husband of Barbara Faye Richey Williams of 102 Clairmont Lane, died Thursday, September 3, 2009 at his residence.Born in Anderson County, SC on August 15, 1936, Mr. Williams was a son of the late Carl Newton Williams and Margaret Ethel Coates Williams. He was a graduate of Lebanon High School and retired from the United States Navy serving during the Vietnam War. He taught heating and air-conditioning at Tri-County Technical College and was later employed in their maintenance department. He was a member of the American Legion and the V.F.W. and was an avid woodworker. Mr. Williams was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter Day Saints. Survivors include his wife of the home; daughters, Teresa Retz of Palm Springs, CA and Donna Powell of San Diego, CA; brothers, Billy Williams of Pembroke, GA, Charles Williams of Princeton, TX, Earl Williams of New Baden, Il, Jerry Williams, Tony Williams and John Williams, all of Anderson and Barney Williams of Sparks, NV; sister, Juanita Harding of Yerington, NV; five grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren.He was predeceased by a granddaughter, Jennifer Lynn Smith.The Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, September 6, 2009 at 3:00 pm in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home conducted by Elder Terry Richey. Also participating will be Reverend Jerry Gray and daughter, Donna Powell. Interment will follow in Oaklawn Memorial Gardens with US Navy Military Honors. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, September 5, 2009 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.The family will be at the residence.Flowers are optional.
