KENTJUNE 5, 1948 - OctoBER 26, 2009IVA, SC ' On October 26, 2009, Harry Lee Kent departed this life to join (and possibly help lead) the heavenly choir. Surrounded by his family in peaceful celebration through hours of singing and prayer, Harry was ushered into glory.Born on June 5, 1948, in Ceredo, West VA, he was a son of the late Rod and Lorraine McKeand Kent. He was a graduate of Williams High School in Burlington, NC, and Western Carolina University in Cullowhee, NC. Mr. Kent retired from insurance sales and the metal finishing business. He served as Music Minister at Rocky River Baptist Church and had previously served as Choir Director at other churches in the Anderson area. Mr. Kent was an avid bass fisherman and member of the Electric City Bassmasters Club for thirty years.Survivors include his wife of thirty-eight years, Kay Westmoreland Kent, of the home; two children: daughter, Angela Lee and husband, Reverend Christopher Lee and their children: Nathaniel & Nicholas Lee, all of Ft. Worth, TX; son, Reverend Bryan Lee Kent and wife, Tonia White Kent and their children: Caroline, Mikayla, & Gracie, all of Erwin, TN; brothers: Bob Kent of Iva, SC, and Gary Kent of Kenova, West VA. In addition, he was survived by many loving nieces, nephews, and extended family members.He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Arthur Kent; and one sister, Helen Kent.The Funeral Service will be held at 11 am on Wednesday, October 28, 2009, at Rocky River Baptist Church conducted by the Reverend Bryan Lee Kent, the Reverend Steven Payne, and the Reverend Russell Clark. Immediately following the graveside service in the Church Cemetery, a memorial celebration meal will be held in the Church Fellowship Hall. Family & friends to participate.The family is at the home and will receive friends at The McDougald Funeral Home from 6 pm until 8 pm on Tuesday, October 27, 2009.
