Harry Brud Moore, age 79, of Pendleton, SC, passed away on Wednesday, October 2, 2024, at AnMed Medical Center.

Born March 9, 1945, in Savannah, GA, he was the son of the late Harry Bernard Moore and Kathleen Donaldson Moore.

Brud was a proud veteran of the United States Navy. During his working career, he was employed for 11 years with Howard Johnson Restaurants and from 1970 until 2002, he owned Exxon convenience stores as well as other store locations. His fun job for over 20 years was selling t-shirts at the Anderson Jockey Lot. Throughout his work life, he made many long-lasting friends and developed many enduring relationships. He was a Mason and an Elk and a member of Central Presbyterian Church. Brud was an avid golfer and enjoyed camping and cruising on ships where he could enjoy a little gambling. He also loved his card games with friends. Most of all, he loved his family and friends and will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, JoAnne Knight Moore of the home; son, H. Brud Moore, Jr. of Anderson, SC; sister, Suzanne Moore Burch (Stephen) of Pooler, GA; granddaughter, Carson Moore McIntire (Kyle) of Chesapeake, VA; and great grandchildren, Damon, Olivia, and Alia.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 8, 2024, from 5:00-8:00 pm at The McDougald Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 9, 2024, at 12:30 pm in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home. Burial will follow at M.J. Dolly Cooper Veterans Cemetery.
