Harvey Mitchell Giles, Sr, age 78, passed away on Monday, February 29, 2016 at his residence. Born in Danville, VA, he was the son of the late Samuel Everette Giles and the late Bessie Johnson, he received his Associates Degree from Tri Ciunty Technical College and worked at Michelin as a Project Engineer. He enjoyed camping, fishing, and golfing at Stone Creek Cove. He is survived by his loving wife, Peggy Bruce Giles; his son, Harvey Mitchell Giles, Jr. and Donna, of Anderson, SC; a daughter, Lisa Johnson and her husband Del, of Loganville, GA; two brothers, Arthur Giles and his wife Barbara, of Daytona Beach, FL, and Bobby Giles and his wife Karen, of Raleigh, NC; a step-sister, Elizabeth Divver, of Anderson, SC; and three grandchildren, Matthew and Joshua Johnson, of Loganville, GA, and Seth Giles, of Winder, GA. The Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, March, 2, 2016, at 3:30 p.m. at The McDougald Funeral Home with Reverend Dean Wood officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home prior to the service on Wednesday from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. Flowers will be accepted.
