Harvey Lee "Lightbulb" Hix, 64, of Anderson, SC, passed away, Sunday, December 27, 2020, at AnMed Health Medical Center. Born July 10, 1956 in Anderson, SC, he was the son of the late True Oliver Hix and Annie Ruth Cole Hix. Lightbulb was a 1974 graduate of Pendleton High School and went on to graduate from Tri-County Technical College. He was an electrician with Michelin for over 32 years. He served the citizens of the Zion community as a member of the Zion Volunteer Fire Department for over 40 years. He served as a 2nd Lieutenant and an instructor for the South Carolina Fire Academy. He also served as the treasurer for over 30 years and was an active member of their Board of Directors. He enjoyed being in the outdoors but he got the most joy from his grandchildren who affectionately called him "Haha". He was a member of Mt. Tabor Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Betty Galloway Hix of the home; son, Andy Hix (Joy) of Anderson, SC; daughter, Angela Senkiw of Anderson, SC; sister, Sandra Mullinax (Dale) of Anderson, SC; grandchildren, Hayley Hix, Dagen Hix, Kora Hix, Jack Senkiw and Eli Senkiw. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Stephen Oliver Hix. A graveside service will be held Tuesday, December 29, 2020 at 2:00 pm at Mt. Tabor Baptist Church Cemetery with Dr. Philip Blankenship officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
