Clarence Grant and Annie McAlister Grant. He retired from the textile machinery and supply business, having worked with Mitchum Company, Gastonia, NC and Machine Parts, Anderson, SC. He served in the United States Army Air Corps during World War II. He was of the Baptist Faith.He is survived by son, H. Chevis Grant, Jr., and his wife, Debbie of Simpsonville, SC; daughters, Jane G. Propst and her husband, Blair of Cherryville, NC and Nancy G. Chasteen and her husband, Dennis of Anderson, SC; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. He will be missed by his dog, Jose'In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife of 60 years, Lucille A. Grant; brothers, Amos, Jasper, Roy, Dewitt, and Gary Grant. The Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, April 29, 2009 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home officiated by the Reverend James Patterson.
