BELTONMrs. Hazel Brock Alewine, age 86, of 603 McClain Road, Belton, died on Saturday, May 13, 2006 at her residence. Born on November 6, 1919 in Anderson County she was a daughter of the late Anderson and Dessie Shaw Brock. Mrs. Alewine taught for more than forty-five years touching the lives of many students and was a member of several professional educational organizations. As a very active person, she was a member of Mount Bethel Baptist Church where she was actively involved in Current Missions I, Sunday School, and Senior Citizens.She is survived by her daughter, Brenda Snipes and her husband, Gary of Anderson; a son, James Alewine and his wife, Gloria of Belton; two grandchildren: Terri Shelton and her husband, Roger and Alison Trumbull and her husband, Steve; five great grandchildren; two step-grandchildren: Angel Jefferson and her husband, Jimmy and Deana Ebernickle and her husband, Terry; six step-great grandchildren; and one brother, R.A. Brock of Anderson. Mrs. Alewine is also survived by her loving caretakers, Betty Welborn and Ruth Hess.In addition to her husband, the late Wesley Alewine, she was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Margie Fleming.
