HAZEL AVERY October 21, 1921 - October 15, 2012 Hazel Ruth Avery, age 90, passed away on Monday, October 15, 2012, at Hart Care Center. Born in Eliot, Maine, she was the daughter of the late Alonson E. Scriven and the late Anna Hagadorn Scriven. She retired from the Cleveland Hill High School. Hazel was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Survivors include her children, Robert Allyn Avery and his wife, Gay, Gilbert Bruce Avery and his wife, Diane and Susan Avery Obermiller and her husband, Robert; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Allyn Avery; a brother, Bernard Scriven; three sisters, Madeline Holl, Lucille Chretien and Norma Whidden; and a grandson, Jeffery Avery. The family will celebrate the life of Mrs. Avery at the home of J.D. and Lisa Obermiller, of Allstar Lane, Hendersonville, NC in the afternoon on Sunday, October 21, 2012.
