Hazel Montez Gilliam Burdette, age 87, of Anderson, SC, passed away on Thursday, January 23, 2025, at her home.

Born October 2, 1937, in Oconee County, SC, she was the daughter of the late Jimmy George Gilliam and Angie L. Smith Gilliam. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Carol Lynn Burdette; one grandchild and one great grandchild.

She was a homemaker and raising her children was her life. She loved her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a believer and held God close.

She is survived by her sons, Ricky Capps and Randy Burdette; daughters, Patricia Arnold (Randy), Cathy Pierce (Johnny). Greta Kay, Pametha Cleveland and Sandy Rothmann (Michael); four granddaughters and four grandsons; six great-granddaughters and five great-grandsons.

The family will receive friends on Monday, January 27, 2025, from 11 am – 12:00 pm at The McDougald Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow in the chapel at 12:00 pm with Rev. Jerry Nation officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.

The family will be at the residence.
