Hazel Virginia McNeely Mosley, age 92, of Anderson, SC, passed away on Tuesday, December 3, 2024, at her home.
Born September 8, 1932, in Anderson, SC, she was a daughter of the late Frank McNeeley, Lattie Rumsey McNeely, and stepmother, Eva McNeely. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Harold Franklin Mosley; a daughter, Susan "Sue" Hart; son-in-law, Ray Hart; grandson, Preston Knecht; great granddaughter, Chloe Mitchell; two sisters, Evelyn Coker and Patsy McNeely; and brother-in-law, Harold Coker.
Hazel was a loving and caring mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She was loved by everyone who met her. She loved caring for children and made an impact on many young lives as a foster mother for many years. Hazel had an outgoing personality and never met a stranger; she could talk to anyone! She was a Godly woman and devout Christian and taught Sunday School for many years. She was a member of Homeland Park Church of God and loved her church family.
She is survived by her children, Kathy Messer, Kenneth Taylor-Mosley, Trisha Hanks (Jamie), and Robbie Mosley (Lisa); brother, Bob McNeely (Imogene); grandchildren, Cindy Hart (Drique Belton), Patty Mitchell, Adrienne Smith, Kelsey Johnson (Garrett), Dylan Mosley, Haley Morton (Nathan), and Hunter Hanks; great grandchildren, Cody Mitchell, Carson Norris, Zion Belton, Austin Johnson, and Parker Morton; great-great grandchild, Gage Norris; numerous nieces and nephews; and special friends, Sandra Browning, Dot Davis, and Melinda Dooley whom she loved dearly.
The family will receive friends on Friday, December 6, 2024, from 12:30-1:30 pm at The McDougald Funeral Home. The funeral service will begin at 2:00 pm in the Chapel with Rev. Vernon Soles, Rev. Doug Saylors, and Rev. Ray Carver officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
Flowers will be accepted, or memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or Crescent Hospice, 305 W. Beltline Blvd., Anderson, SC 29621.
