Hazel Amanda Evans Smith, age 90, passed away on Wednesday, January 25, 2017 at AnMed Health Medical Center. Born in Hartwell, GA, on August 25, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Dunbar Evans and the late Pearlie Ashworth Evans. She received a degree in nursing and was the Assistant Director of Nursing at AnMed Health Medical Center and also worked at NHC as a health care provider. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church where she taught the Esther Sunday School Class. She is survived by her children, Robert Wayne Smith, of Anderson, SC, Jeffrey Louis Smith and his wife Laura Jean Mattingly, of Columbia, SC, and Karen Smith Holt and her husband James Raleigh Holt, of Belton, SC; a grandson, Kevin Todd Morgan, of Concord, NC and his children, MacKinnon Walker Morgan and Mabry Brooke Morgan; and a sister, Betty Ruth Shaw, of Hartwell, GA. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Henry Smith. The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, January 28, 2017, at 2:00 p.m. at Forest Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel with Reverend Curtis Bundy officiating. The family will gather for a time of visitation, following the service at the home, 210 North Street, Anderson, SC 29621.
