Hazel Elizabeth Wood, age 74, passed away on Tuesday, September 15, 2015 at the Rainey Hospice House. Born in Anderson, SC, on July 24, 1941, she was the daughter of the late Authur Clyde Vaughn and the late Daisey Elizabeth Watt Vaughn. She worked at Weave Craft Rug and later at Starlight Nursing Home. She was an avid flower gardener. Hazel was a member of Broadway Lake Baptist Church. She is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Wade T. Wood, Jr.; two sons, Jerry T. Wood and his wife Kristy and Darin A. Wood; four brothers, Harris, Hubert, Harvey and Ricky Vaughn; and three sisters, Helen Hinton, Hilda Prince, and Henrietta Hendrix; three grandchildren, Sabrina Cudd, Brandall Wood, and Miranda Wood; four great-grandchildren, Laylon Cudd, Noah, Korbyn, and Breanna Wood. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Harold, Haskell, Hoyt, and Howard Vaughn. The Graveside Service will be held on Friday, September 18, 2015 at 2:30 p.m. at New Silver Brook Cemetery with Reverend Dwight Greene and Reverend Early Tucker. The family will be at their respective homes and will receive friends at The McDougald Funeral Home on Friday, prior to the service from 12:30 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Broadway Lake Baptist Church, Children's Ministry, 1400 Broadway Lake Road, Anderson, SC 29621.
