Carey, age 85, of 3320 Berry Lane, Anderson, SC, went to be with the Lord on Friday, February 24, 2006 while at home.A life long resident of Anderson, she retired from Orr Mill after 35 years but had worked in textiles since her teen years. She was a Charter Member of the First Assembly of God in Homeland Park, where she taught the young married and Ladies classes. She later attended McDuffie Street Church of God until her health failed. She was the daughter of the late Benjamin and Jessie Ables and the widow of Olious Herbert Carey. She was preceded in death by her son, Dennis C. Carey; a son-in-law, Donnie Skelton; brothers, Ben, Willie, T. D. and Grady Ables.She is survived by three daughters, Linda C. and Ronald J. Dudley of Cartersville, GA, Gail C. Skelton of Anderson, SC, , Bebe C. and Robert S. (Lil 'Man) Fagg of Lake Secession; a son, Danny H. Carey of The Grove Community; one daughter-in-law, Vivian (Billie) Carey of Anderson; granddaughter, Krystal D. Carey, reared in the home of Iva; one sister, Faye Berry of Anderson; grandchildren and families, Ronald J. and Deidra Dudley, Jr., and children, Jack and R.J of Cartersville, GA; Cris D. and Marty Preston and children, Joseph ,Augusta, and Dalton of Smyrna, GA; Ronda D. and Bill Dover and children, Jake and Will of Elijay, GA; Mark and Julie Skelton and daughter, Emily of Lake Russell; Kerry S. and Rick Mullins and children, Sierra, Dalton, Naomi and MaKenzie of Starr; Jason and Lisa Skelton and children, Kristie, Austin, Logan and Charlie of Anderson, SC and Krystal Carey and Brian Kay of Iva, SC and daughter, Natalie. Several step-grandchildren also survive.The Funeral Service will be held at the House of Prayer by the Rev. Jerry Nation and Rev. Ken Anderson on Sunday, February 26, 2006 at 2:00 pm. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Anderson, SC.The family will receive friends at The McDougald Funeral Home on Saturday, February 25, 2006 from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm.page two Following the funeral service, a Memorial Service celebrating the life of Helen A.
