Helen Pauline Johnson Deal, age 97, of Anderson, SC, was called home to be with Jesus on Monday, January 16, 2023. Born November 14, 1925, in Oconee County, SC, she was the daughter of the late Frank Johnson and Lillie Mae James Johnson. She was also preceded in death by her siblings; daughter, Brenda Joyce Teague; and two grandsons, Michael and Jonathan Teague. Helen loved cooking, sewing, and cross stitching. She was a caring and loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great-great grandmother. She will be dearly missed by her entire family and friends. Surviving are her grandchildren, Timothy (Christine), Pamela, and Kristy (Marty); great grandchildren, Tinsley (James), Colson, and Alyssa; and great-great grandchildren, Crew and Wells. The family will receive friends Friday, January 20, 2023 from 1:00-2:30 pm at The McDougald Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life service will begin at 3:00 pm in the Chapel with Celebrant Mike Rippy officiating. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens. Flowers are accepted or memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Upstate, 1835 Rogers Rd., Anderson, SC 29621. The family will be at the home.
