Helen Irene Drake, age 83, of 1330 Dorchester Road, Belton, went home to be with the Lord, November 6, 2012, at AnMed Health Medical Center. Born in Spartanburg, SC, she was the daughter of the late John Harper Patterson and the late Cordelia Smith Patterson. Helen graduated from Girl's High in 1946. She retired from Sears after 33 years or service, where she was a member of the Retirees Club. She was a member of Union Grove United Methodist Church. Survivors include her loving husband of 65 years, David Burney Drake; children, Mike Drake and his wife Pat, of Anderson, Carolyn Reynolds, of Anderson and Ann Myers and her husband Danny, of Columbia, MO; a brother, Wayne Patterson, of Anderson; grandchildren, Roger Reynolds (Juli), Paul Drake (Tasha), Robin Reynolds, Billy Myers (Melissa), Kim Crosby (Nate) and Drake Myers; and her great-grandchildren, Jessica Getsinger, Hanna Reynolds, Hailey Reynolds, Kathryn Drake, Camden Crosby, Colter Crosby Wade Myers, Georgia Myers, and Molly Myers. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, John H. Patterson, Jr., Claude Patterson, Grady Patterson and Kenneth Patterson. The family will receive friends at Union Grove United Methodist Church on Thursday, November 8, 2012, from 10:30 am until Noon. The Funeral service will follow at Noon at the church with the Reverend Amy Bratton and the Reverend Howard Addis officiating. Interment will be held in the church cemetery.
