Helen Buchanan Foster, age 87, of Williamston, SC, passed away Wednesday, December 29, 2021, at AnMed Health Medical Center. Born May 20, 1934, in Anderson, she was the daughter of the late Rufus Gleen Buchanan and Ida Bell Ladd Buchanan. She was married to the late James Winford "Bud" Foster. Helen and Bud formerly owned and operated the Lighthouse Drive-In and she was a member of Mountain Creek Baptist Church. She is survived by her son, James W. "Buddy" Foster, Jr. and his wife Terry; special nephew, Scott Manley; 3 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; 2 sisters and 1 brother. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by 1 sister. A graveside service will be held Sunday, January 2, 2022 at 1:00 pm at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens with Rev. Billy Ray Whitfield officiating. Visitation will be immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mountain Creek Baptist Church, 3407 US 29 Bus., Anderson, SC 29626.
