HELEN STRIBLING GEORGE January 29, 1922 - March 27, 2006ANDERSON, SCMrs. Helen Stribling George, age 84, of Anderson Place, wife of the late Vance D. George, died Monday, March 27, 2006 at AnMed Health Medical Center in Anderson, SC. Born in Oconee County, SC on January 29, 1922, Mrs. George was a daughter of the late Mark David Stribling and Nelle Anderson Stribling. She was a graduate of Fair Play High School and Montreat College and Winthrop College with a B.S. Degree in 1943 She was employed in Washington, DC during the remainder of World War II under the Commerce Department for the Signal Corps. She taught at Lavonia High School in Georgia for one year. For more than 22 years was the Branch Librarian at Pendleton, SC Library. She was also a member of Mt. Zion Presbyterian Church.She is survived by a daughter, Janelle G. Moore of Anderson, SC; sons, S. David George of Pendleton, SC, Harry D. George of Fountain Inn, SC and Richard T. George of Pendleton, SC and seven granddaughters and one great-grandchild.In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Joe F. Stribling, Samuel P. 'Pet' Stribling and Frank D. Stribling and a sister, Janie S. King.A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, March 29, 2006 at 3:00 pm at Mt. Zion Presbyterian Church officiated by the Reverend Elizabeth Patrick. The family will receive friends at the church from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm at the church prior to the memorial service.The family request no flowers and memorials be made to Mt.
