HARTWELL, GA'Helen Elizabeth Mitchell Hardy, age 78, widow of Glenn Henry Hardy, of 261 Fairview Avenue, Hartwell, GA died Friday, October 28, 2005 at Hart Care Center in Hartwell, GA.Born in Anderson, SC on April 28, 1927, Mrs. Hardy was a daughter of the late Julian Roscoe Mitchell and the late Fannie Mae Smith Mitchell. She retired from True Temper and the City of Anderson as a secretary in the Personnel Department. Mrs. Hardy was a member of Temple Baptist Church.Mrs. Hardy is survived by a son, Virgil H. Hardy of Anderson, SC; three daughters, Theresa Hardy of Anderson, SC, Sheila Beckmann of Chattanooga, TN, and Marilyn Boggs of Anderson, SC; a sister, Annie Laura Burdette of Plum Branch, SC; Five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Hardy was preceded in death by a brother, James Andrew Mitchell.The family is at the home of her son, Virgil H. Hardy, 2710 Waccamaw Trail, Anderson, SC.
