Helen Estelle Vaughn Hinton, age 90, of Belton, SC, passed away Friday, May 24, 2024.

Born September 5, 1933, in Belton, SC, she was the daughter of the late Arthur Clyde Vaughn and Daisy Elizabeth Watt Vaughn. She was married to Larry Gene Hinton until his death in 1998. She was also preceded in death by 1 sister and 6 brothers.

Helen was a graduate of Belton High School Class of 1952 and immediately began working for Rice Mills until 2002 when she retired. She was the most loving mother, grandmother, mother-in-law, and the best "Granny" in the world! She enjoyed crossword puzzles, reading the newspaper, and going out for Chinese food every Friday night. Granny loved going places with her family and friends and was a member of Eastside Baptist Church.

She is survived by her son, Vernon David Vaughn (Melinda); granddaughter, Shelly Vaughn Quarles; great grandsons Austin Dayvid Quarles and Gregory Nathaniel Lance; brothers, Ricky Vaughn (Elaine), and Harris Vaughn (Shirley); and sisters, Henrietta Hendrix and Hilda Prince (Manuel). She is also survived by cherished family Wayne and Connie Hawkins.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, May 28, 2024, from 12:30-1:30 pm at The McDougald Funeral Home. The funeral service will begin at 2:00 pm in the Chapel with Rev. Dewayne Evans officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.

The family will be at the home of Wayne and Connie Hawkins, 1205 Cox Lake Rd., Belton, SC.
