Mrs. Helen S. Lee, age 88, of Anderson, SC, and widow of William Lawrence Lee, passed away on Thursday, November 22, 2018. Born in Greenville, SC, on July 25, 1930, Mrs. Lee was the daughter of the late G. Frank Smith and Lois Allgood Smith. She graduated from Winthrop College and earned a masters degree from Clemson University. Mrs. Lee was a retired educator having taught at Lakeside Junior High School and the guidance counselor at T.L. Hanna High School. She was an Agriculture Extension Assistant Agent in New Hanover County, NC and Anderson County, SC. Mrs. Lee was a member of the Bud and Bloom Garden Club. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Anderson, where she formerly taught the Nell Townsend Sunday School Class and was a member of the Circle 6. She is survived by two daughters, Betsy Lee Maglione and her husband Tony of Mount Pleasant, SC, and Mary Helen Lee Taylor and her husband Richard, of Honea Path, SC; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and one brother, Jerre Allgood Smith of Texas. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, George F. Smith, Jr. The funeral service will be held on Sunday, November 25, 2018 at 3:00pm at Forest Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel with the Rev. Dr. Dennis Tedder officiating.
