Roberts of 103 Wild Vine Path, passed away on Tuesday, September 21, 2010 at the Rainey Hospice House after a battle with cancer.Helen was born in Washington, DC and later resided in Virginia for more than forty-four years until moving to South Carolina in 2000. During her career, she worked for the Secretary of Defense, was a real estate processor, administrative assistant and a realtor. Her passion for crafting allowed her work to be seen nationwide and many of her original patterns appeared in Create & Decorate magazine, to name just one. She was a member of Boulevard Baptist Church and a former member of Trinity United Methodist Church.Survivors include her beloved husband of forty-five years, William C. Roberts; daughter-in-law, Keller W. Roberts; three grandchildren, Caleb, Cameron and Keller Noelle Roberts; her brother, Walter B. Sanford, Jr., and brother-in-law; C. L. Roberts and their families. Timothy N. Roberts, her only child, predeceased her in 2010.A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, September 26, 2010 at 4:00 pm in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home officiated by Dr. Johnny McKinney. A private family committal service will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens. The family will be at the residence and will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 4:00 pm until 6:00 pm.
