SMITHNOVEMBER 2, 1916 - July 29, 2008ANDERSON, SCMrs. Helen Picklesimer Smith, age 91, formerly of Morningside Assisted Living and Bailey Court, passed away on Tuesday, July 29, 2008 at the Rainey Hospice House in Anderson.Mrs. Smith was born on November 2, 1916 in Rockingham, North Carolina and was a daughter of the late Martin Luther Picklesimer and Nettie Medlin Picklesimer. Mrs. Smith retired as a Secretary from West-Point Stevens Wellington Plant and was a member of Marshall Memorial United Methodist Church where she served in numerous capacities through the years.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Lester W. Hughes; second husband, Robert Thomas Smith; son, William Lester 'Bill' Hughes; sisters: Jeanette P. Harbuck, Grace P. Cox, Mabel P Grant, Peggy P. Greenway, and Irene P. Ivester. She is survived by stepchildren: Barbara S. Pokora of Roslyn Heights, NY; Linda S. McKenna of Stony Brook, NY; and Robert T. Smith, Jr. of Centereach, NY; brother in law, James L. 'Cotton' Greenway of Anderson, SC; and dear friend, Pat West of Anderson, SC. Several nieces and nephews also survive.A Graveside Service will be held at 11am on Thursday, July 31 at Forest Lawn Memorial Park conducted by the Reverend Faye Stephens and the Reverend J.
