HELEN WILBANKS January 24, 1926 - September 11, 2013 ANDERSON, SC Helen Ruth Chasteen Wilbanks, age 87, of Anderson, passed away on Wednesday, September 11, 2013, at the home of her grandson. Born in Anderson, SC, she was the daughter of the late William Walter Chasteen and the late Claudia Yeargen Chasteen. She worked for many years at Sams Curb Market. Helen was a member of Asbury Baptist Church. She is survived by two grandchildren, Jeir Wilbanks and his wife Kelly and Ryan Wilbanks; three great-grandchildren, Sydney, London and Cruz; a brother, Reverend Sam Chasteen and his wife JoAnn; and a sister, Grace Pittman and her husband Frank. In addition to her parents, he was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph O'Dell Wilbanks; a son, Ronney Allen Wilbanks; and a brother, Clarence Wilbanks. The Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home on Saturday, September 14, 2013, at 3:30 PM with Reverend Delennon Stowe. Interment will follow at Old Silver Brook Cemetery. The family will be at the home of her brother, Sam Chasteen, 1509 Asbury Park Road, Anderson and will receive friends prior to the service from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM at the funeral home.
