Henrietta "Penny" D'Amato Stearns, 75, wife of Joseph E. Stearns, Jr., passed away on Friday, January 26, 2018, at Rainey Hospice House. Born in Brooklyn, NY, on November 4, 1942, Penny was a daughter of the late Angelo D'Amato, Sr. and Celeste DeMaso D'Amato. Penny worked as a Bank Operations Supervisor for Perpetual Bank. In addition to her husband, Joseph, Penny is survived by her children, Celeste Lowie, Nick Federlein; stepchildren, Joseph A. Stearns, Lawrence E. Stearns, Deborah K. Stearns and Sara L. Stearns; sister, Angela DiCecco (Ed); eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Penny was preceded in death by a brother, Angelo D'Amato, Jr., and sister, Sarah Pilsbury. The family will receive friends at The McDougald Funeral Home on Tuesday, January 30, 2018 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. The Memorial Service will be held in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 31 at 11:00 a.m. Flowers will be accepted, and memorials may be made to Hospice of the Upstate, 1835 Rogers Rd., Anderson, SC 29621.
