Henry Calhoun "Bob" Harbin, age 78, passed away on Sunday, June 12, 2016, at AnMed Health Medical Center. Born in Anderson, SC, on October 23, 1937, he was the son of the late Arthur Harbin and the late Macie Whitfield Harbin. Bob was a faithful member of First Presbyterian Church, where he had served as Elder and Deacon. He was an active presence at Concord Elementary School where for the past nine years he ate lunch weekly with his grandchildren in the cafeteria. He was a devoted husband and loving father, grandfather and uncle. He supported his grandchildren in every activity to which they belonged. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Hilda Richey Harbin; his children, Matthew Calhoun Harbin and his wife Summer, and Misty Harbin Dillard and her husband William Marvin "Bill" Dillard, III. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Melody Jean Harbin. His grandchildren are, William Marvin "Billy" Dillard, IV., Henry Calhoun "Hank" Dillard, Lynslee Paige Fry, and Calhoun Crawford "Cal" Harbin; a sister, Linda Venturella; and 14 nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Billy Ray Harbin. Following a private family committal service at Forest Lawn Memorial Park a service to celebrate the life of Mr. Harbin will be held on Thursday, June 16, 2016, at 2:00 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church with Reverend Dr. Dennis Tedder officiating. Those serving as pallbearers include Dr. Don Bryant, Darrell Capell, Henry Calhoun "Hank" Dillard, William Marvin "Billy" Dillard, IV, Rodney Harbin, Cliff Sams, David Sprouse, and George P. Venturella, Jr. The family will be at the residence and will receive friends on Wednesday, June 15 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at The McDougald Funeral Home.
