Born in Belton, he was a son of the late Harry Lee Johnson and Nellie Ann Black Johnson Vaughn. He was retired from Anderson County Road Maintenance and was a member of High Praises Church of God. 'Bill' was also the program coordinator and athletic director for The Salvation Army Boys Club from 1959-1966. Survivors include his wife of the home; son, Deron Johnson and his wife Krista of Anderson; daughter, Pam Johnson Lowe and her husband Ronald Lowe, Jr. of Anderson; four grandchildren, Tyler Lowe, Amber Johnson, Brittany Lowe, and Courtney Johnson; two brothers, Carl and Gordon Johnson, both of Anderson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Douglas Johnson. The funeral service will be held at 1pm on Wednesday, March 3, 2010 at High Praises Church of God officiated by Reverend Chris Sustar. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will be at the residence and will receive friends from 6pm-8pm on Tuesday at The McDougald Funeral Home. Mr. Johnson will be placed in the church at 12 Noon on Wednesday.
