ANDERSON, SC HERBERT H. JONES Herbert "Herb" Harris Jones, age 75, passed away on Friday, July 10, 2015, at AnMed Health Medical Center. Born in Anderson on March 30, 1940, he was the son of the late Jesse Hoyt Jones and the late Ernestine Yeargin Jones. Herb retired after thirty-three and a half years as a Park Ranger at Sadler's Creek State Park. He was an avid guitar player and singer. Mr. Jones was a member of Starr Church of God of Prophecy. For fifty-nine and a half years, he was the loving and devoted husband of Rebecca Riddle Jones of the home. In addition to his wife, Rebecca, Herb is survived by a son, Steve Jones and his wife, Arlette, of Anderson; a sister, Pat Brown and her husband, Harrison, of Anderson; a granddaughter, Shannon Morgan and her husband, Dusty, of Anderson; a great-granddaughter, Caylee Morgan of Anderson; also surviving are several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Herb was preceded in death by a sister, Carolynb Stovall. The funeral service to celebrate and honor the life of Herbert H. Jones will be held on Monday, July 13, 2015, at 3 p.m. at the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home, with Rev. Brandon McGuire officiating. Interment will follow at the Roberts Presbyterian Church Cemetery. The family will be at the residence and will receive friends at The McDougald Funeral Home on Monday, July 13, 2015 from 1 p.m. until 2:30 P.M.
