He retired from Spring Industries/Wamsutta Mill. He was a member of Concord Baptist Church and was the last surviving member of his immediate family.He is survived by his son, Herbert Phillips, III; daughters, Nancy Hawkins and her husband, Terry, and Vivian Boozer, and her husband, Butch, all of Anderson; and 6 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.The Funeral Service will be held at Forest Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel on Thursday, March 8, 2012, at 11:00 am, officiated by the Reverend Dr. Don Cox and the Reverend Randy Blank. Entombment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum.The family will receive friends at The McDougald Funeral Home on Wednesday, March 7, 2012 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm.
