The McDougald Funeral Home2211 North Main StreetAnderson, South Carolina 29621864-224-4343OBITUARY / FLAG HERMAN LILLYJULY 12, 1933 - May 30, 2009 ANDERSON, SC ' Herman Clarence Lilly, age 75, of 133 Cedar Road, passed away on Saturday, May 30, 2009, at the AnMed Health Medical Center.Born in Anjean, West Virginia on July 12, 1933, he was a son of the late John Hargot Lilly and Birdie Evelyn Goddard Lilly. Mr. Lilly was a United States Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was employed in the coalmines of West Virginia before retiring from the Chrysler Corporation in Alliance, Ohio. He was a member of the Sanctuary of Praise, formerly First United Pentecostal Church of Anderson.Survivors include his children: sons, Wayne & Chris Lilly; daughters, Darlene Bruce, Charlene Colegrove, Wanda Curry, Linda Skipper, Donna Freeze, and Teresa Stowe; five brothers; seven sisters; twenty three grandchildren; and twenty-nine great grandchildren.In addition to his parents, his wife, Shelva Jean Gibson Lilly; one grandson, Alfred Colegrove, Jr.; one sister; and one great grandson, Tristen Alexander Skipper, predeceased him.The Funeral Service will be held at 4 pm on Tuesday, June 2, 2009, at Sanctuary of Praise, Hwy 29 South, conducted by the Reverend Edward Goddard. Interment will follow in Oaklawn Memorial Gardens.The family will receive friends at The McDougald Funeral Home on Monday, June 1, 2009, from 6pm until 8pm.
