Hilda Ann Browning Hitchcock, age 89, of Anderson, SC, passed away Thursday, January 20, 2022, at her home. Born January 29, 1932, in Atlanta, GA, she was the daughter of the late Vivian Carsdale Browning and Eula Mae Head Browning. She was married for 70 years to John Paul Hitchcock, Sr. until his death in 2016. Hilda was a graduate of Fulton County High School and formerly worked for Kmart. She was a member of Concord Baptist Church. She is survived by her children, Becky Reed (Johnny), and John Paul Hitchcock, Jr. (Joanna); 13 grandchildren, and many great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her daughters, Hilda Paulette "Polly" Gallman, and Susan Marie Hudson. The family will receive friends Tuesday, January 25, 2022, from 4:00-6:00 pm at The McDougald Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held Tuesday, February 8, 2022, at 2:00 pm at M.J. Dolly Cooper Veterans Cemetery with Dr. David Blizzard officiating.
