Hilde S. Connor, age 89, of Anderson, SC, passed away Tuesday, September 19, 2023, at Rainey Hospice House. Born March 20, 1934, in Bamberg, Germany, she was the daughter of the late Georg and Kunigunda. She was the widow of Larry Randolph Connor. She was also preceded in death by her son, Randy; brother Georg; and sister Leisel. Hilde was formerly employed with BASF and was of the Catholic faith. She enjoyed traveling, playing cards and reading, especially mystery novels. She loved being a part of Senior Solutions and loved Perry Mason. St. Jude's Children's Hospital was special to her, as she was a longtime donor. Hilde grew up during WWII and overcame many hardships in her life, including losing her son. She was a fighter until the end. She is survived by her daughters, Linda Gilreath (Larry), Libby Cahoe (Jim) and Candy Connor (Dee); 6 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. The family will receive friends Friday, September 22, 2023, from 11:30 am until 12:15 pm at The McDougald Funeral Home followed by the funeral service at 12:30 pm in the Chapel with Dale Gilreath officiating. Burial will be at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Upstate, 1835 Rogers Rd., Anderson, SC 29621. The family will be at the home.
