Hollis Lindbergh Allison, age 95, of Anderson, SC, passed away on Sunday, May 17, 2026, at Rainey Hospice House.

Born July 20, 1930, in Greenville, SC, he was the son of the late Eugene Ernest Allison and Louise Gilstrap Allison. He was also preceded in death by 5 brothers and 2 sisters.

Hollis was a proud veteran of the United States Army where he served as an Army Ranger and retired after 24 years of dedicated service to his country. While serving in Germany, he met his wife Brigitte, and they were married in 1966. He loved music and was a guitar player in a band. He also enjoyed fishing, golfing, gardening, and Clemson football.

He is survived by his wife, Brigitte Lindner Allison; son, David Allison (Tammy); daughters, Patricia Machen (Joe) and Sheila Allison; 9 grandchildren; and 18 great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, from 11:00 am until 12:15 pm at The McDougald Funeral Home. The funeral service will begin at 12:30 pm in the Chapel with Rev. David Scott Kelly officiating. Entombment will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.
