Horace H. Barnes Anderson, SC Horace H. "Mickey" Barnes, age 85, of Anderson, passed away on Thursday, March 20, 2014, at Fellowship Health and Rehab. Born in Anderson, SC, on October 20, 1928, he was the son of the late John Dee Barnes and the late Grace Shore Barnes. He was a 1945 graduate of Boys High. He worked at Anderson Auto Parts retiring with over 60 years of service. He was an avid race car fan, especially enjoying Nascar. Horace was a faithful member of Calvary Baptist Church. He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Betty Mahaffey Barnes and a niece, Cheryl Gaillard. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Michael Joe "Rick" Barnes; a daughter-in-law, Lynn Wright Barnes; and a brother, Bobby Keith Barnes. The Funeral service will be held in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home on Sunday, March 23, 2014 at 3:30 p.m. with Reverend Curtis Bundy officiating. Interment will follow at Garden of Memories in Belton, SC. The family will be at the residence and will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, prior to the service, from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. Flowers will be accepted. Memorials may also be made to the charity of one's choice.
