Griffin, Sr. ANDERSON Horace Lee Griffin, Sr., 85, husband of Marian Smith Griffin, passed away on Friday, June 19, 2015, at Richard M. Campbell Veterans Nursing Home. Born in Anderson, SC, on June 26, 1929, he was the son of the late Charles Edward Griffin and the late Mamie Hooper Griffin Stamps. He was a veteran of the United States Army, he was also a supervisor with Orr-Lyons Textiles and retired from Michelin Corporation, and was a past Deacon at Orrville Baptist Church. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sons, Horace Lee Griffin, Jr., and his wife Beth Anne, and Claude Anthony "Tony" Griffin and his wife Janet; a sister, Margie Williams; 3 grandchildren, Rusty, Michael, and Scott Griffin; and 3 great-grandchildren, Riley Rae, Mikayla, and Clay Griffin. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Charles E. Griffin, Jr. The funeral service will be held on Monday, June 22, 2015 at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home with Dr. Wendell Bannister and the Reverend Michael Smith officiating. Interment will follow at M.J. "Dolly" Cooper Veterans Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM until 1:30 PM on Monday, June 22, 2015 prior to the service.
