OBITUARY / FLAG WITH PHOTORAY BELLANDERSON, SC Howard Ray Bell, husband of the late Mildred Fortner Bell, died Friday, June 13, 2008 at the Rainey Hospice House.He was retired from BASF, a United States Army veteran of World War II and a member of Anderson 1st Assembly of God.In addition to his parents and wife, Howard was preceded in death by six brothers and two sisters. He is survived by two daughters, Sheron Evans Simmons and her husband Ronny, and Joan Bell Emery, all of Anderson; one brother, Riley Powell of Douglasville, GA; one sister, Delree Worley of Covington, GA; four grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and four step-great-grandchildren. The Funeral Service will be held Monday, June 16, 2008 at 3:30 pm at The McDougald Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Sam Chasteen and Reverend Phil Sears officiating. Interment will follow at New Silverbrook Cemetery with Military Honors provided by The Upstate Veterans Honor Guard.Pallbearers will be his grandsons, step-grandsons, and great-grandsons, Bryan Evans, Jonathan Emery, Joshua Emery, Chris Simmons, Ryan Evans and Kyle Evans.The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, June 15, 2008 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm and one hour prior to the service on Monday.The family will be at the home of daughter, Sheron Simmons, 112 Cedar Road, Anderson, SC.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of the Upstate, 1835 Rogers Road, Anderson, SC 29621, Children's Miracle Network, 611 Saint Joseph Ave., Marshfield, WI 54449, or Anderson 1st Assembly of God, 3235 D.
