Howard Joseph Charlesworth, age 91, a resident of Morningside of Anderson, passed away on Saturday, November 11, 2017, at Rainey Hospice House. Born on March 27, 1926, in Little Valley, NY, he was the son of the late John Howard Charlesworth and the late Georgia Morton Charlesworth. For sixty-seven years, he was the loving and devoted husband of Elsie June Williams Charlesworth, also a resident of Morningside of Anderson. Mr. Charlesworth was a dairy and beef cattle farmer for over fifty years and was a founding member of Antreville Fire Department. He was a member of St. John's United Methodist Church in Anderson.
In addition to his wife, Elsie, Howard is survived by two sons, David Lee Charlesworth and his wife Deborah of Sugar Land, TX, and Bryan Dewaine Charlesworth and his wife, Jean Ann of Antreville, SC; a brother, John Roger Charlesworth and his wife, Mary, of Little Valley NY; three sisters, Hazel C. Fellows and Phyllis Krug, both of Little Valley, NY, and Jane Ritter of Conewango Valley, NY; also surviving are six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
A memorial service to celebrate the life of Mr. Charlesworth will be held on Wednesday, November 15, 2017, at 1 P.M. at the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home with Rev. Herb Franklin officiating. The family will greet friends at the funeral home following the service.
