Timothy Hugh Manning, 89 of Starr, SC passed away on Sunday, July 23, 2023 at AnMed Medical Center. Born October 29, 1933 in Iva, SC, to the late Leftridge Clinkscales Manning and Selma Burton Manning. Hugh attended Forest College and was a retired supervisor after 35 years with Duke Energy. He was a veteran of the United States Army. He was also a mason at Starr Hermon Lodge and former senior of the year for Anderson County. He was a Sunday school teacher and Sunday school director at Flat Rock Baptist Church. Later he joined Starr Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon and volunteered with Good News Club. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Joyce Manning; sons, Timothy Hugh Manning, Jr. and Jerry Richard Manning; brothers, Cleland and Haskell Manning; grandchildren, Justin Manning of Carlton, MI, Michael Manning of Knoxville, TN, Blaze Jensen of Maryland, Benjamin Manning of Abbeville, SC, JonDavid Manning of Peoria, IL, Morgan Manning of Greenwood, SC and Molly Franks of Starr, SC. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Virginia Manning and brothers, Claude Manning, Donald Manning and Zerfley Manning. The family will receive friends from 5-7pm Friday, July 28, 2023 at the McDougald Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 11 am Saturday, July 29, 2023 in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home with Rev. Tony Howell officiating. Entombment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum.
