He served in the United States Marine Corps and retired from the S.C. National Guard. He was a former employee of Milliken Corporation and was a member of the V. F. W. and the Marine Corps League of Anderson. Survivors include his wife of the home; son, Baree Martin of Pendleton; daughters, Sharon Martin of Pendleton and Cindy Ramsey of Acworth, GA and brother, Harold Martin of Pendleton.In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by brothers, Adger Martin, Bill Martin and Sarden Martin and sisters, Catherine Matthews and Nettie Gibson.The Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, March 10, 2011 at 3:00 pm in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home officiated by the Reverend Chad Campbell. Interment will follow in Memory Gardens, Clemson, SC with Military Honors.The family will be at their respective homes and will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 1:30 pm until 2:30 pm.Flowers are optional.
