KEEN February 07, 1918 - November 30, 2008IVA, SCMr. Hurbert Malvin Keen age 90, husband of Martha Carolyn Davis Keen, of 203 Cook Street, passed away on Sunday, November 30, 2008 at Richard M. Campbell Veterans Nursing Home.Born in Helena, GA on February 07, 1918, Mr. Keen was a son of the late Lonzo Waldo Keen and Annah Hammock Keen. He was a retired Master Sergeant in the United States Air Force having served in World War II and the Korean Conflict. He was a former employee of John Mansville and was a member of the Teamsters Union. He also served as Park Ranger at Silver Strands National Park in San Diego, CA and was a Boy Scout Leader. Mr. Keen was a member of Varennes Presbyterian Church where he was also a member of the Elizabeth Hays Sunday School class.Survivors include his wife, Martha Carolyn Davis Loftis Keen; daughter, Linda L. Squyres of Nevada; sons, Patrick Keen of California and Al Keen of Belton; stepsons, Steve Loftis of Greenville, Barry Loftis of Anderson and Daryl Loftis of Easley; sister, Joan Elizabeth Murphy of Florida; eighteen grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; twenty-two great-grandchildren and eight great-great grandchildren.In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his first wife, Martha Lee Culp; daughter, Judith Mae Crowe; brother, Vernie E. Keen; sisters, Bettie Keen Morton and Vyrie Keen McPipikin; grandson, Mark Long and step-granddaughter, Heather Marie Loftis.A Graveside Service will be held on Wednesday, December 3, 2008 at 11:00 am at M. J. 'Dolly' Cooper Veterans Cemetery officiated by the Reverend Frank Norris with Full Military Honors.The family will receive friends immediately following the graveside service.The family will be at the residence.Flowers are optional.
