(Skull) Powell went to be with Jesus on November 3, 2009 at her residence.Born in Pickens County, SC on May 28, 1932, Mrs. Powell was the daughter of the late John Paul Hawkins and Mamie Bell Cash Hawkins. She was a homemaker and of the Baptist Faith.Survivors include her sons, John Samuel Powell of the home, Paul Steven Powell and his companion, Robin Denise Barfield and Joel Keith Powell and his wife, Lynn; daughter, Melissa Pamela Long and her husband, David, all of Anderson; nine grandchildren, Chris Powell, Crystal Cox, Michael Lindsey, Joel K. Powell, Jr., Candice Goldsmith, Betty Jean Powell, Steven Powell, Kera Long and Jordan Long. Thirteen great-grandchildren also survive.She was predeceased by a son, Curtis Eugene 'Cooter' Powell and two grandchildren, Paul S. Powell, Jr., and Curtis W. Powell.The Funeral Service will be held on Friday, November 6, 2009 at 2:00pm in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home officiated by the Reverend John Daniel.
