Imogene Ozmint Allred Terry, affectionately known as "Mimi", age 95, of Iva, SC, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 16, 2021, at Cottingham Hospice House with her family by her side. Born October 29, 1925, in Iva, she was a daughter of the late Joseph Hoyt Ozmint and Mittie Rice Ozmint. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, James E. "Jim" Allred; second husband, Amos M. Terry; daughter, Debbie Patterson; brothers, Ed and Bill Ozmint; sister, Frances Jones Bryant; and two step children. She was the oldest and last surviving member of her immediate family. Imogene was formerly a secretary with Clemson University, was the office administrator at Ozmint Oil Co., and was a visitation hostess with The McDougald Funeral Home. She was an active and faithful member of First Baptist Church of Iva as long as her health permitted. She was formerly a Sunday School teacher, WMU director, and church clerk. Imogene had an infectious personality and she never met a stranger. Everyone who met her instantly fell in love with her. Left to cherish her memory are her son-in-law, Larry Patterson; granddaughter, Gena Patterson Hawkins (Joey); great grandchildren, Brett Hawkins (Bryanna), Ike Hawkins (Brittany), Hunter Hawkins (Brytton), and Lagen Hawkins; great-great grandson, Lander Hawkins; 4 nieces and 4 nephews; and 5 step children. The family will receive friends Thursday, August 19, 2021, from 1:00-2:30 pm at First Baptist Church of Iva. The funeral service will begin at 3:00 pm with Rev. Jerry Gray and Rev. Joey Hawkins officiating. Burial will follow at Iva City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Foothills, 390 Keowee School Rd., Seneca, SC 29672. The family extends a special thank you to Morningside Assisted Living and Cottingham Hospice House for the love and care given to Imogene.
